The 2.5-Star ResortQuest Waikiki Circle Hotel has been a landmark in Waikiki for years. Once the ResortQuest Hotel folks took it over, it was upgraded with a new whimsical ocean theme (it is right across the street from the ocean) with sand textured floors, seascape murals and blue neon lights - in the lobby. All the wedge-shaped rooms (the hotel is actually built as a circle, or round) continue the theme with bright tropical fabrics, fish wallpaper and rattan headboards.
They say in real estate location, location, location is the most important factor in property. And the ResortQuest Waikiki Circle cannot possibly have a better location. And what is so fantastic about this hotel is that it is moderately priced. Any other hotel in Waikiki that was ocean front would be several hundred dollars more a night.
While the air conditiioned wedge shaped rooms are not that large (about 245 sq. ft.), all rooms offer two double beds, which are dressed with 250-count linens from the Hilton Serentiy Bed & Bath collection and are extremely comfortable. The bathroom is on the small size and features a shower only, very clean and well maintained. All the rooms open onto private, furnished lanais with views. Amenities include in-room high speed internet access (fee), hair dryer, cable/satellite TV, mini refrigerator, clock radio. pay-for-view movies, complimentary toiletries, wakeup calls, voice mail and more. For the best views request a high floor.
Complimentary coffee and newspapers are available in the lobby during morning hours; children receive a free beach pail, shovel and mini Goldfish toy per room; parking (limited) is available for $9 + tax per day, an unbelievably low price in Waikiki; reduced fee access to a 24-hour a day Fitness Center, a block away; a surf board lock up rack, in case you rent one for a week and beach toys that guests can borrow.
There are some great restaurants an easy stroll away, including Tiki's Grill & Bar, Cheeseburger in Paradise; Cheesecake Factory and further along, California Pizza Kitchen or you could wander down to the new and evolving BeachWalk area where several great places to eat have opened up.
This hotel is not for everyone, even though a great percentage of the hotel's guest are repeat customers and it garners rave reviews from people who have stayed there. There is no pool, the rooms are not huge and the bathrooms do not have granite counter tops and makeup mirrors, but for many people it has something even more important. Great value for your money, an absolutely unbeatable location, a really wonderful staff and somewhere in the hotel is some really funky fish wallpaper!
