Ilikai Hotel
For many years, the 3.5-star Ilikai Hotel has been known as the Gateway to Waikiki, located close to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and all of Waikiki. The open air lobby and courtyard is a great spot to relax and enjoy the view overlooking the ocean. From there, you can wander towards the main pool or the beach.
The enlarged pool area features a new whirlpool tub and a poolside bar, a perfect place to sip drinks while watching the sunset. Not to miss is the nightly Hawaiian Torch Lighting Ceremony, an Ilikai tradition dating back 35 years. Free Hawaiian entertainment is offered poolside every Thursday to Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Property amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, hair salon, 24-hour massage and fitness center, health spa, tennis court, business center, dry cleaning, concierge service, express check-out and high speed internet access in public areas (fee).
The air conditioned rooms at the Ilikai Hotel are very spacious (600 sq. ft.) with a tropical décor. All rooms have Mountain, City or Ocean View rooms. City View rooms are located in the Ala Moana and Waikiki Wings and have either one king or two double beds with soft mattress toppers, high quality sheets and duvets. Ocean View rooms are located in the Waikiki and Harbor Wings and overlook the Duke Kahanmoku Lagoon and the ocean.
Room amenities include a balcony (most rooms), workspace, pull out sofa, 27-inch cable TV with premium channels including Showtime, Disney, CNN, ESPN and FOX, pay-per-view movies, dual line phones with voice mail, iron/board, high speed internet access (fee), hair dryer, mini refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, Bath & Body Works toiletries and more.
The Ilikai Hotel has some excellent restaurants on their property, including a few popular local favorites. Sarento's is a wonderful Italian restaurant at the very top of the hotel with an unparalleled panoramic view of downtown Honolulu, Waikiki, the mountains, the ocean and everything in between.
Canoes at the Ilikai is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers American dining. Tanaka of Tokyo, a consistent winner of "Best Japanese Restaurant in Honolulu" in a reader's poll, features teppenyaki-style cooking where chefs skillfully prepare your meal choices right before your eyes, great fun for the whole family.
Note: The Ilikai has started limited daily maid service that will include emptying of trash, changing bath linens and replenishing of amenities. Full daily maid service will be provided every 5th night during a guests stay. Full maid services are available for a daily fee and require 24-hour notice.
